DRIP 2025 informational virtual meeting, Feb.13
Tomorrow, Feb. 13, DWR will host an informational Drought Resilience Interagency & Partners (DRIP) collaborative meeting regarding the task force’s plan for engagement and activities in 2025. The 90-minute meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be held in Room 06-212 at the California Natural Resources Agency building in Sacramento. Space is limited and attendees are encouraged to participate remotely via Zoom. Registration is open now and required.
Delta Conveyance Project public hearing begins Feb. 18
The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) Administrative Hearings Office will hold a public hearing regarding the Delta Conveyance Project (also known as the Delta Tunnel) beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 9 a.m. The hearing will address the water right change petitions filed by DWR’s State Water Project (SWP), which propose to add two new points of diversion and rediversion to specific water right permits. The State Water Board will determine whether to approve these petitions, and, if so, what specific terms and conditions (if any) should be included in the amended SWP permits. California Water Quality Monitoring Council meeting, Feb. 20
The California Water Quality Monitoring Council (Monitoring Council) will hold a virtual public meeting on Thursday, Feb. 20, to plan further implementation of the comprehensive monitoring program strategy and to develop additional recommendations to the California Environmental Protection Agency and the California Natural Resources Agency secretaries. Meeting topics will include a public forum for interested parties to address non-agenda items, Monitoring Council updates, and a roll out and review of new webpages within the My Water Quality website. EWRI chapter meeting featuring DWR ASO presentation, Feb. 25
The Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) will host its Sacramento chapter meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Guest speaker David Rizzardo will give a presentation on DWR’s Airborne Snow Observatory (ASO) program, the result of a partnership between DWR and snow and earth science experts at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to develop an innovative remote sensing method for measuring California’s snowpack and providing more accurate seasonal runoff forecasting and water supply management. With more than 27 years of experience in hydrology and water resources engineering, Mr. Rizzardo manages DWR’s Hydrology Section. The EWRI meeting runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the California Natural Resources Agency building in downtown Sacramento and is open to the public. Tickets for this event are available online.
