Placer County health clinic in Auburn transitions to Western Sierra Medical Clinic Nov. 10

For more than 30 years, Placer County has provided medical services to low income, rural residents. On Nov. 10, the Auburn medical clinic will close its doors, transferring patients to a new, non-profit provider. Learn more

Interstate 80 in Placer County

Placer County Economic Development Board members at a special meeting Oct. 27 expressed support for major investments in local transportation proposed by the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency. Learn more

On the agenda: Board of Supervisors meeting Nov. 8


The Placer County Board of Supervisors meets at its chambers in Auburn next week. The board will provide further direction to county staff developing a draft ordinance to regulate medical marijuana cultivation. They'll also consider purchasing a leased building in Rocklin currently housing several county services, as well as consider contracting with a private vendor to provide food service at our correctional facilities. Agenda

Village at Squaw hearing set for Nov. 15 in Kings Beach

The Placer County Board of Supervisors will hold a special public hearing Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Kings Beach to consider approval of the proposed Village at Squaw Valley Specific Plan. Read more

Daylight saving time ends this weekend

It's that time of year again! Remember to turn your clocks back one hour this Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2:00 a.m. The end of daylight saving time also serves as a good reminder to change out the batteries in all of your household smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

I-80 lane closures this weekend through Sacramento


Heads up! Caltrans is alerting motorists to expect traffic delays of up to an hour on westbound Interstate 80 in North Sacramento this weekend. Select traffic lanes, connector ramps, and on- and off-ramps along I-80 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, through noon Sunday, the 6th, weather permitting. Learn more
