 Art Exhibit: "Ventana Huichola"
Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station 1020 E. Palmer Ave., Glendale, CA 91205 Through November 11, 2024
A new art exhibit, "Ventana Huichola," is on display through November 11, 2024, at the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station. Ventana Huichola – “Huichol window” in Spanish – is a site-specific installation consisting of three pieces. Each work is made of fifteen God’s Eyes attached to a plastic net with a cord. These votive objects offer luck for those that pass by and honor the Huichol community in Mexico. Having these objects in Glendale offer protection to the City and create a window to the world of the Huichol culture. Artis Natalie Gonzalez’s goal for this piece is for the audience to engage in the magical vibrations of colors and shapes.
This temporary art installation is sponsored by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission through funding from the Urban Art Fund, and support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Glendale Community Services & Parks, and the Adams Hill Neighborhood Association.
