A special thank you to all the people who came to the park to paint this display!
Artist Statement:
"At this time of year, many people reflect on their religious and cultural traditions. Kindness is an ancient value appearing in teachings from Confucius, to Christ, to karma. The phrases shown here are modern takes on those age old lessons.
Kindness and sharing are some of the most important building blocks of community. In our current era of dissension it is more important than ever to reach out and find our shared humanity. Expressing kindness is almost always possible and seldom regretted."

Dunsmore Park Improvements Project
As part of Community Services & Parks’ ongoing efforts to improve the condition of the City’s parks, plans and specification have been prepared for the Dunsmore Park Improvements Project which will focus on the reconstruction of the parking lot area only. Parking lot pavement resurfacing and reconstruction involves the rehabilitation of existing pavement that has deteriorated beyond routine maintenance. It consists of the removal of the existing Asphalt Concrete (AC) pavement, followed by placement a new AC pavement. This method will improve the ride quality within the parking lot and the structural integrity of the pavement.
Accordingly, the Dunsmore Parking lot will be closed when the pavement is being resurfaced. The project has been phased to minimize impacts to the public. See phasing schedule below and phasing map attached.
Dunsmore Park’s Parking Lot Closures:
-
Phase 1: upper parking lot will be closed
December 11 thru December 13, 2023
-
Phase 2: lower parking lot will be closed
December 21, 2023 thru January 9, 2024
