Hello,
Here at American Canyon Police Department, we want to make sure your Halloween celebrations are spooky but safe!
Here are some important Halloween safety tips to keep in mind:
-
Costume Safety: Choose flame-resistant costumes that are easy to move in. Please make sure they are visible in low light. Ensure accessories like masks don't obstruct vision or breathing.
-
Trick-or-Treating: Stick to well-lit areas, use sidewalks, and cross the road at crosswalks. Be cautious of traffic.
-
Adult Supervision: Young children should always be with an adult. Older kids should go in groups and have a set curfew.
-
Candy Inspection: Examine all candy before eating it. Look for any signs of tampering or open wrappers.
-
Home Safety: Keep your home well-lit for trick-or-treaters. Remove tripping hazards from your porch and yard.
-
Pet Safety: Keep pets indoors or in a secure area to prevent them from getting frightened.
-
Driving Safety: Drive cautiously in residential areas on Halloween night. Watch out for children who may dart into the street.
-
Emergency Preparedness: Teach children their name, address, and phone number in case they get separated. Have a plan for contacting each other if needed.
Please stop by the Fire Station at 911 Donaldson Way East on Halloween night for a trick or treat. Stay safe, and have a spooktacular Halloween! If you have any questions or need more information, don't hesitate to contact us.
Respectfully,
Rick Greenberg Chief of Police

👮☕ Thank You for a Fantastic Coffee with the Cops Event this Month ☕👮
We enjoyed spending the morning of October 18th with some great members of the community who came by to share their ideas, concerns, and stories over a cup of coffee with us. Thank you to American Canyon Starbucks (south) for hosting and providing the treats and coffee!
We look forward to seeing YOU at the next event, on November 15th, at Dunkin Donuts!

Did you know that registering your bicycle's serial number can be a game-changer in keeping it safe and secure? That's right! By taking just a few minutes to do this, you significantly increase the chances of recovering your bike in case it ever gets lost or stolen.
Why Should You Register? It helps the American Canyon Police Department identify and return your bike if it's found. Increases the chances of catching bike thieves and preventing future thefts. Provides evidence for insurance claims if needed.
How to Register:
1. Note down your bike's serial number. You can find it typically underneath the bike frame near the pedals or on the seat tube.
2. Access the online form HERE.
3. Fill out the form with accurate information, including the serial number and a brief description of your bike.
4. Hit submit, and you're all set!
Alternatively, you can also register your bicycle simply by dropping by the American Canyon Police Department at 911 Donaldson Way East, or calling (707) 551-0600.Let's all do our part in ensuring the safety of our beloved bicycles and encourage others to register theirs too!
