Sonam Patel started her Alameda-based Physical Therapy practice after 12 years of experience in the field. She has a master's and doctorate in physical therapy and is American Board Certified in orthopedics. Sonam promotes good health and techniques that prevent falls. This initiative is focused on educating and empowering individuals of all ages to adopt healthy habits, improving strength and balance and reducing the risk of falls through targeted exercises and lifestyle modifications. Fitness for Seniors! Balance, Mobility & Stability Mondays, Jan. 8 — Feb. 26, 12:15 p.m. — 1:05 p.m. Location: Room D Cost: $71 ~ Class #24031
Feel safe when moving from place to place. Practice gentle movements to help improve balance, mobility and stability. After this class, you’ll be able to sit and stand easier and may decrease your probability of falling and prevent injury. Storytelling and Drumming Festival Saturday, February 3, 12:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Location: Mastick Senior Center Free and Open to Everyone!
This festival will feature storytelling, drumming, poetry and puppetry from many diverse cultures and communities as well as interactive workshops featuring how to drum and write/recite poetry. Attention Mastick Travelers!
The Mastick Senior Center travels to fun and interesting places around the Bay Area and as far as two hours away. Presently, we are planning for the Winter Season…Do you know of a fun and interesting place that seniors may like to visit? And, we are always on the hunt for yummy lunch venues to complement our trips. If you know of places that would support about 50 folks and have great service, please contact Ed Kallas, Recreation Supervisor I at ekallas@alamedaca.gov

The Mastick Thrift Shop is open to the public on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Donations are accepted until FULL (space is limited) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Mastick Program Guidelines
We are excited to see you and want to ensure your visit to the Center is a success. In an effort to maintain the safety and well-being of members and staff, please adhere to the following when visiting:
- Face-coverings are strongly recommended when inside the building;
- Stay home if showing signs of respiratory illness (cough, sore throat or shortness of breath);
- Wall-mounted hand-sanitizing stations are available in each room;
- Be sure to dress in layers, bring a hat, sunscreen, and anything necessary to provide for your own comfort.
