Good morning,
For the past nine months, my team and I have been producing Inside Pima County with Rex Scott, a podcast designed to give residents a behind-the-scenes look at the programs, services, and people who keep Pima County running.
Each episode is a relaxed conversation with one of our department directors. We begin by learning a little about their background and what inspired them to serve our community, then dive into the important work their department does, the challenges they face, and the resources available to residents.
These discussions are possible because we've built strong working relationships with our department directors over the years. These outstanding leaders are passionate about what they do and eager to share how their teams are making a difference every day.

 Board names Jorge Soto as County Treasurer
The Pima County Board of Supervisors on July 28, 2026, appointed Jorge Soto as the new County Treasurer, effective immediately. Soto will take over the term of former Treasurer Brian Johnson who resigned in June. The term ends in December 2028.
 NatureWorks Green Infrastructure Career Academy
Build Skills. Gain Experience. Launch Your Career.
The NatureWorks Green Infrastructure Career Academy is a paid workforce development program that prepares participants for careers in green infrastructure, urban forestry, ecological restoration, conservation, and related land stewardship careers. It is a Pima County Regional Flood Control District funded workforce initiative implemented in partnership with Tucson Clean and Beautiful and Pima County Community & Workforce Development.
The Transportation Master Plan will address all 9,189 square miles of Pima County and include 2,200 miles of roadway, along with pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and paratransit infrastructure. By sharing your comments, concerns, and local knowledge, you can help improve mobility throughout the region.
