Good morning,
There’s so much to do this time of year in Pima County. The cool mornings, sunny afternoons, and those incredible desert sunsets remind us why this time of year is so special. It’s the kind of weather that invites us outside, to our trails, parks, main streets, and neighborhood events. There’s no shortage of reasons to get out and enjoy our community over the next couple of months.
February and March are packed with incredible events across Pima County, from cultural festivals and community gatherings to arts, history, food, and family-friendly celebrations that highlight the rich mix of cultures, traditions, and local talent found across our region. This month, we also proudly recognize Black History Month, honoring the achievements, contributions, and enduring legacy of Black Americans in our community and across the nation. Throughout the county, residents will find meaningful events, performances, exhibits, and educational opportunities that invite reflection, celebration, and connection.
I hope you’ll take advantage of the season, take a moment to clear your calendar and support local events, explore something new, and spend time with neighbors and friends. Pima County truly shines when our community comes together, and the weeks ahead are a great reminder of just how much there is to celebrate right here at home.

In celebration of Black History Month, the African American Museum of Southern Arizona and the Dunbar Pavilion are hosting special events throughout the month of February. Both are must-see community treasures and are open year-round, offering powerful insight into our rich African American history and culture that helped shape the Pima County we call home.

What are we talking about?
We’ve officially released the first block of four episodes of Inside Pima County with Rex Scott, and the response has been incredibly encouraging. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, which tells me there’s a real appetite for understanding how Pima County works and, more importantly, hearing directly from the people who do the work every day.
My goal with this podcast is simple: to give residents a behind-the-scenes look at county government and let our dedicated staff tell their own stories in their own words. Below are the four interviews we’ve released so far.
