Extreme heat—a long period of excessively hot temperatures—peaks during summer months from June through August.
In addition to being uncomfortable, the heat can be harmful and can cause heat-related illness and sometimes death. Each year, nearly 2,000 people visit Arizona emergency rooms because of heat-related illnesses. The resources on this page can help you stay cool, stay safe, and stay informed.
