Did You Know?
About 1 in 5 Americans will get some type of skin cancer in their lifetime. Yet, early diagnosis and treatment improves outcomes.
The county-sponsored healthcare plans offer coverage for seeing a Dermatologist. You and your covered dependents are eligible for an annual skin cancer screening.
Here is a quick summary of the benefits available:
|
 |
|
Cigna Network
Visit your assigned in-network Primary Care Physician (PCP) first. Your copay is $30. Obtain a referral to schedule an appointment with an in-network Dermatologist. A $45 or $70 copay will apply. Look for a Tier 1 provider for a lower copay.
Important: This plan has no out-of-network benefits.

|
UnitedHealthcare PPO
Schedule an appointment with an in-network Dermatologist. A $55 or $70 copay will apply. Look for the Tier 1 blue dot provider for a lower copay. No referral is required.
Out-of-network benefits are available; however, your out-of-pocket expenses are higher. For a Dermatologist appointment, there is a 50% coinsurance after your out-of-network deductible, $1,500 per individual or $3,000 per family.
|
Cigna and UnitedHealthcare HDHP
See an in-network Dermatologist. After you have met your deductible of $1,600 for an individual or $3,200 for a family, you will pay a 15% coinsurance. No referral is required.
An out-of-network Dermatologist appointment is also available at a higher cost to you. A 50% coinsurance after your out-of-network deductible of $3,200 for an individual and $6,400 for a family will apply.
Quick Fact: Dermatology can be a virtual visit nowadays too!

Get the Best Cost for You and Your Family's Prescription Drugs
Maricopa County's healthcare plans include pharmacy coverage with a Prescription Drug List (PDL) that makes drugs affordable and provides employees and covered dependents effective medication choices.
Get started by exploring your healthcare plan's Pharmacy Plan Summary here.
Additionally, both mycigna.com and myuhc.com offer an online tool that you can access to find and compare drugs’ costs.
But wait – there may be a way to save even more money!
Have you heard about GoodRx or WellRx?
These are free websites that help you save money by finding you the lowest prescription prices in your neighborhood and help you find the best out-of-pocket price on prescriptions that are not part of the PDL.
Important: Anytime you choose not to use your pharmacy plan to purchase your medications, the out-of-pocket cost is not applied to your annual deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.
