Listening Session: AK Behavioral Health Providers June 20, 10:00-11:30am AKDT
The Northwest Mental Health Technology Transfer Center seeks to have a deeper understanding and connection with Native communities, leaders, and governments. They are collaborating with the National American Indian and Alaska Native Mental Health Technology Transfer Center to hold listening sessions. Anchorage Reentry Coalition Case Management
The Anchorage Reentry Coalition works to improve reentry outcomes for citizens returning from incarceration and public safety for communities, and does so through engagement, education, advocacy, and collaboration. The Reentry Case Manager assists those returning with access to housing, employment, treatment, education, training, faith-based, tribal, and peer support.

Mat-Su Reentry Coalition Reentry Resources
The Mat-Su Reentry Coalition promotes public safety by identifying and implementing strategies that increase the well-being of formerly-incarcerated individuals within the community and reduce the likelihood of their recidivating. Besides offering reentry case management for Mat-Su Valley residents, the coalition provides an online directory of reentry-related services, including housing, medical care, substance abuse treatment, support groups, court-mandated programs, and transportation. Juneau Reentry Coalition Behavioral Health Resources Directory
The Juneau Reentry Coalition (JREC) is a collaboration of individuals, community advocates, businesses, non-profits, tribal, faith-based, and public agencies who support success for justice involved Alaskans, at all phases of their justice involvement—pretrial, incarceration, reentry, and reintegration. The JREC Behavioral Health Resource Directory offers a searchable database for identifying Juneau programs and services that specifically serve justice-involved Alaskans in Juneau. Ketchikan Reentry Coalition Case Management
The Ketchikan Reentry Coalition offers people returning to Ketchikan after incarceration support in five focus areas: housing, employment and meaningful engagement, healthcare, cultural and community connection, and transportation. Coalition staff help with reentry navigation, care coordination, training and development, networking, and peer support.
Thursdays from 5:00-6:00pm at Pilothouse Coffee, the coalition hosts Reentry Coffee Hour for Alaskans returning to the community after incarceration a chance to get together with other reentrants to talk about their experience, network, and support each other over free coffee and treats. Alaska Suicide Prevention Conference June 9, 9:00am-2:15pm AKDT
The Alaska Division of Behavioral Health is offering this conference to highlight best practices in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. The keynote on June 9, will be about adolescent suicide trends in Alaska with breakout sessions from NAMI, Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), screening, and 988 and crisis call center services for young adults.

Talk Saves Lives: A Brief Introduction to Suicide Prevention June 24, 12:00pm AKDT
This presentation will be hosted over Zoom. It is community-based and covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight suicide. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.

Friendships and Dating Classes in Fairbanks June 6 – August 10, Mondays & Wednesdays, (1-2:30pm AKDT)
This class, sponsored by Stone Soup Group, teaches teens and adults, 16-26 years old with intellectual and related developmental disabilities, and youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) how to develop and maintain health relationships. This 10-week hybrid Zoom and in-person (Fairbanks) course meets twice per week beginning in June.

Request for Proposals: Psychotropic Medication Oversight and Monitoring Case Review for Children in State Custody or on Medicaid Proposals due by September 2
The Alaska Division of Health Care Services is requesting proposals from eligible applicants to provide independent third-party expert case review to ensure that high value pediatric psychiatry and psychopharmacology care is provided to children enrolled in Alaska Medicaid, particularly children in state custody.
