NYS Department of Labor

Good morning–

This is a reminder that per federal law, federal unemployment benefits and extensions are scheduled to expire on September 5, 2021. This includes benefits in the following programs:

  • Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)
  • Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC)
  • Extended Benefits (EB)
  • $300 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) supplement
  • $100 Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation (MEUC) supplement

The last week claimants may certify for full or partial benefits through these programs is September 5, 2021 through September 11, 2021. Claimants will receive their final week of benefits through these federal programs two to three days after certifying. Please note: All unemployment benefits will be delayed one day for claimants who certify on Sunday due to the Labor Day bank holiday.

Today, NYS DOL is sending emails and text messages to New Yorkers who are receiving benefits with information about their current programs, options moving forward, job search resources, and additional assistance available to New Yorkers.
