Institutions for Mental Diseases (IMD) Criteria and Web Broadcast and
Conference Call Information
In preparation for the July 28 IMD criteria meeting (E-memo
#16-23), below is information for
interested parties about the meeting, information about follow-up meetings and several
documents to review.
Important note
This IMD criteria conversation is happening parallel to the
larger CD reform effort, including exploration and implementation of available
options to allow for exceptions to the federal Institutions for Mental Diseases
(IMD) exclusion for medically necessary, rehabilitative, substance use disorder
treatment provided in the most integrated and least restrictive setting. We
will continue to provide communication updates related to these parallel
efforts.
Criteria Available for Review
Draft IMD criteria under discussion to be used by DHS for
future program determinations is available. Please review prior to the July 28
meeting. The forms are complex but at the meeting on July 28, we will be
discussing these in greater detail and explaining how they work and we will
discuss how the criteria some of the
forms are interconnected (e.g. DHS may first need to complete a campus program
analysis, prior to completing an IMD analysis, during a site visit).
- IMD
Scoresheet Version 2
- Campus
Scoresheet Version 2
- Outpatient
with Housing Scoresheet Version 2
We have also included an IMD
Determination Process flow.
