I joined Mayor Craig Greenberg at a press conference as we unveiled a sweeping new master plan for Jefferson Memorial Forest. The master plan outlines a transformative vision aimed at expanding recreation, improving accessibility, and preserving the forest’s natural character.
The master plan is based on extensive public input from stakeholders and residents. The plan introduces major new features including a canopy walk with suspension bridges, expanded hiking and mountain bike trails, a glamping area, a destination playground, and a new welcome and environmental education center.

Louisville Metro Government is working to improve the online tools many residents use every day, including the Louisville Metro Business Portal, the 311 Reporting System, and the 311 Mobile App and we want your input! These tools allow the public to submit service requests, report issues, and track responses.
Louisville Metro has launched a public engagement website where community members can share their experiences and ideas. On the site, you can:
- Fill out a short survey
- Share ideas on the Ideas Wall
-
Respond to an open‑ended question about your experiences
Learn More Your feedback will help guide decisions about communication tools, self‑service options, and how Metro can make services more efficient, accessible, and responsive for everyone. The site will also serve as a central hub for project updates, keeping residents informed as the CRM selection process moves forward.
Whether you have used Metro’s 311 system, submitted a service request, or interacted with Metro online, your voice matters. We encourage all residents to participate today!
Thanks for taking a few minutes to help shape the future of how Louisville Metro Government serves our community.

Paving operations have resumed now that temperatures have warmed up for the season. Crews are back out improving streets across Louisville Metro.
Louisville Metro repaves streets each year to preserve roadway conditions, extend the life of existing pavement, and provide safer, smoother travel for everyone. Regular paving helps prevent more costly repairs in the future and protects the City’s infrastructure investment.
The following roads are in the works for District 13:
Revolutionary Ct - From Revolutionary Rd to Dead End
Revolutionary Rd - From Tolls Ln to Minute Men Ct
Fort Sumter Ct - From Dead End to Dead End
Aluma Ln - From Dead End to Dead End
Minute Men Ct - From Dead End to Dead End
Militia Dr - From Yorktown Rd to Dead End
We didn’t roll this out just to make an announcement we rolled it out to move the needle. And it is.
Since launching in September, we’ve had 91 inquiries from businesses looking at the South End and the Dixie Highway corridor. That tells me one thing: people are paying attention, and they see the opportunity here.
Here’s where the numbers stand right now:
• Dixie Highway Restaurant Incentive: $353,400 approved $646,600 still available
• METCO Loans: $535,000 approved $265,000 remaining
• South Point / Legacy Grants: $40,000 approved $160,000 remaining
That’s real investment already moving and real dollars still on the table.
If you’re not familiar with the programs, here’s the quick version:
METCO Loans help new businesses open their doors or allow existing businesses to improve and expand their properties.
Legacy (South Point) Grants provide $10,000 to businesses that have been operating five or more years and are ready to reinvest.
Restaurant Incentives offer up to $30 per square foot for new sit-down or fast-casual restaurants locating specifically along Dixie Highway.
This fund exists for two reasons: 1️⃣ Support the businesses that stuck with the South End. 2️⃣ Attract strong, quality investment that upgrades our commercial corridors.
We talk a lot about revitalizing Dixie. This is what that actually looks like incentives, capital, and momentum.
If you’re thinking about opening, expanding, or renovating, don’t sit on it. There is still funding available, but it won’t last forever.
Full details and applications are here: https://www.louisvillealliance.org/southend
We’re going to keep pushing until the South and Southwest get every bit of investment they deserve.
The Louisville Metro Department of Transportation (DOT) is inviting residents to learn about and share feedback on a proposed network of freight routes — or routes commonly used by large trucks — across Jefferson County.
The DOT will host three open house-style meetings where community members can review the draft network, ask questions, and provide input. These meetings are part of the Freight Mobility Action Plan, which aims to improve how big truck traffic moves through Louisville Metro while reducing impacts on neighborhoods.
Meeting dates and locations:
-
Tuesday, April 21 | 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Southwest Regional Library, 9725 Dixie Hwy.
-
Wednesday, April 22 | 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Americana World Community Center, 4801 Southside Dr.
-
Thursday, April 23 | 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Edison Center, 701 W. Ormsby Ave.
A new online tool will also be available ahead of the meetings, making it easy to view the draft routes and submit comments from home.
The plan is being developed in partnership with HDR Engineering to better understand how freight, or big truck traffic, interacts with neighborhoods and to identify safer, more efficient routes.
Your feedback matters. Community input will help shape truck routes that support local businesses while minimizing disruptions in residential areas.
