District 10 news

Congratulations to District 10 Black History Month Honoree Kissi Gnamba

CW Raymond Kissi and CW Shanklin

Above, left to right, were Councilwoman Raymond, Kissi Gnamba, and Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin, who chairs the Equity, Community Affairs, Housing, Health and Education
Committee, which organizes the program.

Yesterday was the 23rd Annual Black History Month Program, ”Reaffirming Our Diverse Culture” and District 10 honored cook and restauranteur Kissi Gnamba!

Christine, known by many as Ms. Kissi, is the proud owner of Eden & Kissi, her very first restaurant specializing in Afro-Caribbean cuisine. She describes the process:

Our journey began humbly at a small tent in a flea market nearly ten years ago. In 2020, at the height of the challenges of COVID, we took a bold step and opened our first restaurant, Eden & Kissi, as a symbol of hope and resilience.

At Eden & Kissi, our motto is simple: serve good food, cook with love. We offer a fusion of West African flavors from my home country, Ivory Coast, and the bold, vibrant tastes of Jamaica.
