Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day will be observed Monday, May 27, a day to honor and mourn the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Memorial Day also marks the unofficial beginning of summer.
Before we head to the lake, barbecue or festival, let's pause to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Have a safe holiday weekend and we'll be back on Tuesday.
Holiday schedule changes for Public Works
There will be no residential garbage, recycling, or yard waste collection within the Urban Services District on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Collection through the week will be delayed by one day because of the holiday.
Residents who rely on private waste haulers should consult those haulers about holiday collection schedules.
Also, Public Works' three staffed recycling drop-off locations, the Waste Reduction Center, and the Haz Bin will be closed on Saturday, May 25 in recognition of the holiday and closed on that Monday as usual. View a map and complete list of the drop-off sites and regular operating hours.
