Global Lou Highlights
Did you know that every minute 20 people are forced to leave everything behind to escape war, persecution, or terror?
Every year on June 20, the world celebrates International Refugee day to recognize the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees. Most organizations use the week before or after this date to further educate communities about issues of concern, and mobilize resources around global problems causing forced displacement.
The Office for Globalization stands in solidarity with refugees residing in Louisville and their families who are still in refugee camps. Many of Louisville's businesses are immigrant-owned, and majority of these owners once came to our cities as refugees. We acknowledge their contributions both to our business environment and our communities.
Check out the immigrant-owned stores below, and visit the Global Louisville Directory HERE to find more international stores!
