 Sweep into action: street cleaning starts March 3
Street cleaning operations will begin on Mon., March 3, weather permitting. Be on the lookout for our mailed Public Services Guide, arriving in your mailboxes in the next few weeks.
Check the signs: Signs posted at the beginning and end of each block indicate the days and times that parking restrictions will be in place on each street.
Get text message reminders: View the 2025 street cleaning schedule and sign up for courtesy email or text notifications on our street cleaning page.
HBO is a proposed building performance standard to reduce emissions from Evanston's largest buildings (20,000+ sq. ft.), supporting the Climate Action and Resilience Plan. It builds on the Benchmarking Ordinance and would ensure equitable decision-making, affordability preservation, workforce development opportunities, and cost savings.

 Apply for Cultural Fund Grants
The Evanston Arts Council invites non-profits and community organizations to apply for up to $8,000 in Cultural Fund Grants to support arts programming or general operations. Individual artists may also apply for grants up to $2,000 through the Special Projects Fund.

Do you know your rights?
Join us for an informative ‘Know Your Rights’ Forum on Tues., March 4, at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center’s Council Chambers. This event will feature City staff who will provide valuable information regarding your rights and share available resources and services.
First installment property tax payments due March 4
The first of two installments of 2024 property tax bills, which is 55 percent of a property's total tax bill for the previous year, is due on March 4. Property owners can make payments online, by mail, or in person at the Cook County Treasurer's office.
Paw-some news! Evanston Dog Beach reopens March 1
The Evanston Dog Beach will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., beginning March 1. A valid dog beach pass is required for entry. Pick up your pass in person on weekdays at city community centers.
The Revised Comprehensive Plan is Now Available

Cook County Sun and Save has reopened applications
Eligible Cook County homeowners may qualify for a no-cost solar photovoltaic system. The program ends August 31, 2026, or when funds run out. Visit the Sun and Save website to learn more and apply today!
Robert Crown Ice Rink temporarily closed
As a reminder, the ice rink at the Robert Crown Community Center are closed due to a mechanical failure. Repairs are underway, with reopening expected in several weeks. Other facility functions remain open.
