Fremont Launches New and Improved City Website
You asked, and we listened! Our updated City website, www.fremont.gov, is now live and offers a user-friendly experience combined with a modernized design and data-driven navigation.
In addition to many improvements made to the homepage, we added several features based on community survey feedback and website traffic metrics:
- Agenda Center, featuring a calendar of meetings and events
- Streamlined navigation across all pages
- Improved search results for users to quickly locate information, including how to apply for permits, register for recreational activities and camps, and more
- Accessibility across all devices with mobile responsiveness
Given we’ve updated all of our webpage links, please note that previously bookmarked pages stored in your browser may be broken, as well as search results returned on browsers. We’ve also purchased a customized Bitly domain, https://city.fremont.gov, which will serve as the beginning of shortened vanity links that will be used for important webpages included in our marketing materials.
To continue improving Fremont.gov, the City welcomes public feedback. Please send us an email with your suggestions, questions, or issues.
Major Upgrade to Citizen Access Permitting Portal
A major upgrade to Citizen Access, the City's online permitting portal, is currently underway. Through Wednesday June 1, the ability to create a new permit application will be turned off. If the upgrade is completed earlier than expected, the ability to create a new application will be turned back on at that time. All other Citizen Access functionality will be available during this time (i.e., fee payment, resubmittal, uploading of documents, scheduling of inspections).
If you are planning for a new project, please consider this service interruption and adjust your project timelines accordingly.
The City appreciates your understanding and apologizes for the inconvenience.

- The vaccination rate of the 5–11 age group is well above the State’s rate of 35% thanks to the efforts of Alameda County staff and partnerships with schools and community organizations.
- It’s important to note that the 12–15 age group has been eligible for nearly 6 months longer than 5–11 year-olds.
- For up-to-date information about children, teens, and vaccines, visit the Children and Youth Vaccine webpage.
- Schedule appointments now for young people in your families, aged 5 and older, to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine using the State’s scheduling system, CA.gov or Primary Health the County’s scheduling system.
- Alameda County REQUIRES unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated residents to quarantine for five days. Persons infected within the prior 90 days do not need to quarantine.
- The Cal/OSHA ETS REQUIRES all employees regardless of vaccination status have a negative test between days 3-5 to return to work. Persons infected within the prior 90 days do not need to be tested unless symptoms develop.
- The Cal/OSHA ETS REQUIRES that exposed employees mask for 10 days regardless of vaccination status.
- If you can’t or do not want to test, the Cal/OSHA ETS REQUIRES that exposed employees stay home for 10 days, regardless of vaccination status.
Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests Available
- Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order a third round of eight free at-home COVID-19 tests.
- Testing, along with vaccinations and masking, helps reduce the chances of spreading COVID-19.

- COVID-19 treatments can lower risk of severe illness and hospitalization and work best when taken as soon as possible after symptoms begin.
- How to get COVID-19 treatment:
- If you have symptoms, call your health care provider right away to ask about testing and if you qualify. Don’t wait for symptoms to worsen.
- If you don’t have a health care provider or don’t hear from your provider within a few days, visit a Test to Treat location to get rapid testing and find out if treatments are right for
- If you are uninsured, get free care at an OptumServe Test to Treat location.
- Otherwise, stay home and away from others to avoid making them sick.
- COVID-19 treatments are not a substitute for vaccines. While treatments are an essential tool, vaccines are our best protection.
