Dubois- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has closed the Wiggins Fork dispersed campground site and a portion of the access road on the Inberg/Roy Wildlife Habitat Management Area outside of Dubois. The closure follows a major channel movement of the Wiggins Fork River into the road due to exceptionally high run-off this summer. The goal is to prevent damage to the area that could be caused by vehicles and recreationists traveling on flooded roads and surrounding areas.
Game and Fish will evaluate the closure next year following run-off and related channel changes to determine if the area will be re-opened or closed indefinitely. Any vehicle operators traveling around closure barriers will be cited for traveling off a designated route, however foot and horse access remains available for anglers and hunters. Please contact Brian Parker, Lander Region Habitat and Access Supervisor, at (307) 332-2688 with any questions.
