Water damage closes road on Pennock WHMA
LARAMIE –Excessive precipitation has forced the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to close the Lake Creek Road on the Pennock Wildlife Habitat Management Area near Saratoga until further notice. Access to Pennock Moutain is still available on Bureau of Land Management road 3417 on the south end of the unit.
Mark Cufaude, Saratoga Habitat and Access Biologist, said the road will remain closed until things dry out and the department can get the road bladed and smoothed out.
Users are reminded to avoid travel on dirt or two-track access roads when wet conditions exist as it can cause permanent damage to the road. Traveling around mud holes and other obstacles cause resource damage which can take years to repair. Please stay on designated routes marked by white arrows and obey all road closures as driving around them will only prolong the closure.|
