WGFD Parkhill area road closure at Ocean Lake

Riverton- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will seasonally manage a two-track road within the Parkhill Area of Ocean Lake Wildlife Management Habitat Area (WHMA) to reduce resource damage and provide safe hunting opportunities. The road will be closed to motorized vehicles from May 1 to December 1, but will allow vehicle access during the popular ice fishing season beginning Dec. 1. During the closure an adjacent parking area will facilitate hunter access.
During the summer months this area is irrigated. Irrigation runoff causes the road to become muddy resulting in resource damage when driving on this road. During the fall, hunters can park and disperse from the designated parking area. Hunter access from the parking area will result in a higher quality, safer hunting experience.
