Governor Appoints Tom Clause New Department of Insurance Commissioner

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Matt Mead has selected Paul Thomas “Tom” Glause as the new Commissioner of the Wyoming Department of Insurance. Glause will assume the duties of the Commissioner on January 3, 2015.

“The job of Insurance Commissioner is to regulate the insurance marketplace in Wyoming, and that covers a lot of ground - health, auto, life and other types of insurance,” Governor Mead said. “Tom has a wealth of skills and experience that makes him a good choice for this position.”

Glause currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Wyoming Board of Equalization and is a member the Board of Directors for Cheyenne Frontier Days. Glause received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming in 1984 and his law degree from the University of Wyoming, College of Law in 1987. After law school, Tom was a county prosecutor for Weston County and engaged in private practice and served as Municipal Judge in Rock Springs.

"I would like to thank Governor Mead and I am excited for this opportunity to serve the State of Wyoming,” Glause said.
