Governor Gordon Appoints Erin Weisman to be a Circuit Court Judge for the Ninth Judicial District
CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Erin Weisman to be a Circuit Court Judge for the Ninth Judicial District serving Teton, Sublette and Fremont Counties. Weisman’s appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Circuit Court Judge Curt A. Haws.
Weisman has served as Teton County and Prosecuting Attorney since 2019, overseeing the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the County Attorney’s office. She previously served for five years as Deputy County Attorney and as a private practice attorney with Meyer & Williams P.C. in Jackson. Weisman earned her Bachelor's degree from Emporia State University and her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Wyoming.
“Erin’s civil law experience and her work as a prosecutor in the Ninth Judicial District, as well as her steady presence in both the legal community and Teton County at large, will serve her well on the Circuit Court bench,” Governor Gordon said.
“From a field of very accomplished nominees, I am honored and grateful that Governor Gordon has selected me to become the next Circuit Court Judge for the Ninth Judicial District,” Weisman said. “I look forward to serving the public.”
The appointment is effective August 5, 2024.
