Notice of Public Meeting, City of Newcastle, WY, Tank #2 Rehabilitation Project

The City of Newcastle in Newcastle, Wyoming, will conduct a public meeting at 6:00 pm, local time, on May 4, 2026, in the city council chambers located at 10 W. Warwick St. Newcastle WY. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the following project(s): Tank #2 Rehabilitation Project. The reason for this project is to separate the common inlet/outlet, replace the current control station, and abrasive blast and recoat the tank.

At the meeting, the City of Newcastle will present the proposed project and will discuss the estimated cost of the improvements and the plan for funding the improvements. The proposed project plan, cost estimates, and the funding plan can also be reviewed at Public Works Department located at 111 E. Cambria St. Newcastle WY. Contact Greg Stumpff at 309-746-2882.Based on current cost estimates, the City of Newcastle plans to borrow $ 1,200,000.00 from the Wyoming Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. Increased user fees will repay the loan. The average rate increase was included in the rate analysis conducted in 2024. The rate increase took place in November 2024. The average rate increase is estimated to be $1.65 per month per user to repay the loan. The loan terms will be 0.0% interest rate and 20 years.
