Transfer Station Operation and Management

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Solid Waste Permitting and Corrective Action Program (SWP&CA) will be hosting the annual spring review of the Transfer Station Operation and Management Exam on April 1, 2026, at 10:00am MDT. This webinar will review the applicable rules and the fundamentals for compliant operation and management of a transfer station. Attendees will have the option of registering for the Department’s Transfer Station Operation and Management Exam at the end of the webinar. The in-person training will be held in the Yard Goat Room at the Thyra Thomson State Office Building in Casper, WY, and a link will be provided for registered online participants.

Animal Mortality Composting

An introduction to the basics of animal mortality composting discussing biology, design, and operation. For in-person attendees there will be a hands-on field demonstration. More information on the schedule and content of this training will be available soon.
These trainings are not required by the Solid Waste Rules, but are intended to help solid waste facility operators, managers, and consultants gain a better understanding of the rules and topics of interest for solid waste management. All sessions are FREE and open to solid waste professionals, consultants, and the public. Registration is required to attend and is currently open for all sessions.
