2026 Solid Waste Training Series Webinar #2
Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Operator and Manager Workbook and Exams
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Solid Waste Permitting and Corrective Action Program (SWP&CA) will be hosting an in-person and virtual webinar review of the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Landfill Operator and Manager Workbook on March 11, 2026, at 10:00 am MST. SWP&CA Staff will present the annual spring review of the fundamentals of the MSW Landfill Operator and Manager workbook. At the end of the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to register for the Department’s MSW Landfill Operator and Manager Exams. The in-person training will be held in the Cheyenne DEQ Office, and a link will be provided for registered online participants.
Listed below are additional training opportunities that will be offered during the first half of 2026.
Transfer Station Operation and Management
Apri1 1, 2026 · Yard Goat Room – Thyra Thomson State Office Building, Casper, WY
This webinar will review the applicable rules and the fundamentals for safe and compliant operation and management of a transfer station. Attendees will have the option of registering for the Department’s Transfer Station Operation and Management Exam at the end of the webinar.
Animal Mortality Composting
June 10, 2026 · Thermopolis - TBD
An introduction to the basics of animal mortality composting discussing biology, design, and operation. For in-person attendees there will be a hands-on field demonstration. More information on the schedule and content of this training will be available soon.
These trainings are not required by the Solid Waste Rules, but are intended to help solid waste facility operators, managers, and consultants gain a better understanding of the rules and topics of interest for solid waste management. All sessions are FREE and open to solid waste professionals, consultants, and the public. Registration is required to attend and is currently open for all sessions.
