The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program regulates certain discharges of pollutants into groundwaters of the state. Operators of these discharges are required to receive coverage under a UIC permit. The purpose of this notification is to inform the public that the UIC Program is proposing the termination of an Individual Permit (2023-231) for a domestic wastewater injection well as the Wilson Campus connected to the city sewer and the leachfield was abandoned. The permittee is Tim Miller with Teton Science Schools, 700 Coyote Canyon Road, Jackson, Wyoming. Teton Science Schools Wilson Campus is located in the SE ¼ SE ¼ Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 117 West, Teton County.
The public comment period begins February 25, 2026 and ends March 30, 2026. Electronic copies of the proposed permit termination and relevant application materials are available for review.
During the 30-day public comment period, any interested person may submit written comments on the proposed permit and may request a public hearing be held. Electronic comments may only be submitted through and accepted by the WDEQ comment portal provided at http://wq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com/.
Requests for public hearings on permit applications or modifications must be made in writing to the administrator and shall state the reasons for the request. Requests for public hearings on permit issuance, denial, revocation, termination, or any other department action appealable to the Council, shall be made in writing to the Chairman of the Environmental Quality Council (Chairman, Wyoming Environmental Quality Council, 2300 Capitol Ave., Hathaway Bldg. 1st, Room 136, Cheyenne, WY 82002) and the WDEQ Director (Director, Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, 200 West 17th Street, 4th Floor, Cheyenne, WY 82002) and state the grounds for the request. The Council shall hold hearings pursuant to the WDEQ Rules of Practice and Procedure.
All written comments and requests received prior to 5:00 P.M, March 30, 2026 in the Cheyenne office will be considered. Electronic comments may be submitted to the link identified above.
