Contura Coal West, LLC of Gillette, Wyoming has filed a mining permit renewal application with the Land Quality Division of the Wyoming Department of Environmental
Quality for the mining of coal in Campbell County, Wyoming. Eagle Butte Mine is approximately 8 miles north of Gillette, Wyoming adjacent to Highways 14/16 and 59. The application may be viewed at the Cheyenne or Sheridan Office of the Land Quality Division. The application will be readvertised for public comment prior to approval by the Department of Environmental Quality.
