Reminder Today: Permit Hearing For The Industrial Permit Hearing For Settler Wind Farm Project – DEQ/ISC 23-04

Settler Wind, LLC has filed an application for a permit to construct and operate a wind energy farm, called the Settler Wind Farm Project, located in Converse County, Wyoming. The Project will be constructed entirely on private land leases within Converse County. The Project is planned to be up to 150megawatts in size, consisting of as many as 40 wind turbines. The Project site will be accessed by County Road 18, also referred to as Mormon Canyon Road. Construction of the Project is planned to begin in August 2025 and is expected to take approximately 17 months to complete. The onsite workforce in 2025 is estimated to be 40 in August, peaking at 80 in October and November, with as few as 13 workers in December through February 2026. The workforce in 2026 is expected to peak at 200 in August and September, average 100throughout the remaining months, and average 60 workers at the end of construction in December. The Project is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.

The permit hearing will start today, September 17, 2024, at 1:00 pm and may continue until September 18, 2024. All parties to the permit proceedings must attend the hearing in person. The hearing will be held at the Ruthe James Williams Memorial Conference Center, located in the Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum at 400 W Center St, Douglas, WY 82633.
