The Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program regulates the storage of carbon dioxide in underground geologic reservoirs within the state. Operators of such facilities are required to receive coverage under a UIC permit. The purpose of this notification is to inform the public that the UIC Class VI Program will hold an informational meeting and hearing for one (1) draft permit (Permit # 2022-235) for Tallgrass High Plains Carbon Storage LLC, 4200 West 115th Street, Leawood, KS 66211. The draft permit is for a Class VI UIC well at geologic sequestration site that will be located in Laramie County (NW NW Qrt of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 62 West)
This draft permit is currently in public notice which began on June 8, 2024. An electronic copy of the draft permit and relevant application materials are available for review at https://deq.wyoming.gov/public-notices/ (under “WATER-Underground Injection Control”). The informational meeting and hearing will be held on August 7, 2024, at the Pine Bluffs Community Center located at 708 Lawson Street, Pine Bluffs, WY 82082 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The meeting and hearing will be held in the gym. The public comment period is scheduled to conclude at 8:00 p.m. on August 7, 2024, at the conclusion of the hearing.
