The Black Butte Coal Company of Point of Rocks, WY has filed a mining permit renewal application with the Land Quality Division of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality for the mining of coal in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. The Black Butte Mine is located approximately ten miles southeast of Point of Rocks. The application may be viewed at the Cheyenne or Lander Offices of the Land Quality Division. The application will be readvertised for public comment prior to the approval by the Department of Environmental Quality.
