Public Notice: The Wyoming Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WYPDES) Program regulates pollutant discharges from point sources into Wyoming surface waters.

The Wyoming Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WYPDES) Program regulates pollutant discharges from point sources into Wyoming surface waters. Point source discharge operators are required to receive coverage under WYPDES discharge permits. WYPDES permits contain limitations and conditions that ensure the state’s surface water quality standards are protected. Prior to permit issuance, the WYPDES Program prepares a 30-day public notice to inform interested parties of proposed permits and offers an opportunity to provide written comments.

The purpose of this notification is to inform the public that the WYPDES Program is proposing the issuance or reissuance of a new set of permits and has prepared a public notice available at the March 2024 Public Notice Website at https://deq.wyoming.gov/water-quality/wqd-public-notices/. The public notice includes draft copies of currently proposed permits, relevant application material, and clearly defines deadlines and processes for providing written comments. This information will be available beginning March 19, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Shreve, Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Water Quality Division, 200 West 17th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82002, 307-777-7093, kathy.shreve@wyo.gov.
