Public Notice: Giant Rubber Water Tanks Chapter 6 Mobile Treatment renewal permit application

In accordance with the provisions of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Chapter 1 of the Solid Waste Rules, Giant Rubber Water Tanks has submitted a Chapter 6 Mobile Treatment renewal permit application.

Giant Rubber Water Tanks operates a mobile tire cutting unit that cuts large scrap tires into water tanks and feeders for livestock. The facility and is responsible for ensuring any waste generated is properly managed. The service area for solid waste management activities conducted by Giant Rubber Water Tanks includes the State of Wyoming. The life of the facility is indefinite.

The Department of Environmental Quality, Solid and Hazardous Waste Division (DEQ) has determined that the permit application is generally complete and technically adequate.  Therefore, DEQ issued a proposed permit for this facility. Copies of the permit application, DEQ’s review of the application, and the proposed permit can be viewed at DEQ’s Casper office 444 W Collins Dr, Casper, WY 82601.

Any interested person has the right to file written comments, including objections on the proposed permit.  The period for providing written comments on the proposed permit shall begin on January 9, 2024 and end on February 16, 2024. Any written comments must be received by 5:00 PM on the last day of the notice period.  Comments must be submitted in writing to the Department of Environmental Quality, Todd Parfitt, Director, 200 West 17th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82002 or submitted using the DEQ comment portal provided at
