North Big Horn Landfill #2 Closure Permit

            In accordance with the provisions of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Chapter 1 of the Solid Waste Rules, the Big Horn County Solid Waste Disposal District has submitted a closure permit application for the North Big Horn Landfill #2.

            This facility will cease disposal of solid waste. The 71-acre facility is located approximately
2.5 miles north of Lovell, Wyoming. More specifically, this facility is located in Section 4 (Lot 87), T56N, R96W, in Big Horn County, Wyoming.

            The Department of Environmental Quality, Solid and Hazardous Waste Division (DEQ) has issued a proposed permit for this facility. Copies of the permit application, the DEQ’s review of the application, and the proposed permit can be viewed at DEQ’s Casper Office at 444 West Collins Ave., Suite 1400.

            Any interested person has the right to file written comments, including objections on the proposed permit. The period for providing comments on the proposed permit, shall begin on September 14, 2023 and end on October 23, 2023. Any written comments must be received by
5:00 PM on the last day of the notice period. Comments must be submitted in writing to the Department of Environmental Quality, Todd Parfitt, Director, 200 West 17th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82002 or submitted using the DEQ comment portal provided at:
