In accordance with the provisions of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Chapter 1 of
the Solid Waste Rules, the City of Cheyenne has submitted a renewal permit application for the Cheyenne Transfer Station.
This facility provides for the transfer and storage of municipal solid waste and construction and
demolition waste which have been generated within Cheyenne and the western two-thirds of
Laramie County. The 9.54-acre facility is located 220 North College Drive in Cheyenne, Wyoming. More specifically, this facility is located in the SW¼ of Section 3, Township 13N, Range 66W, in
Laramie County, Wyoming. The total transfer capacity of this facility is estimated to be 1,000 tons of municipal solid waste. The life of the facility is estimated to be indefinite.
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has reviewed the application and found it to be complete. Copies of the permit application and the DEQ’s review of the application be viewed at DEQ’s Cheyenne office, 200 W. 17th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82002. Any interested person has the right to file comments on the permit application and the DEQ’s completeness review. The period for providing comments shall begin on July 14, 2023 and end on August 21, 2023. Comments must be received by 5:00PM on the last day of the notice period. Solid and Hazardous Waste Division, 200 W. 17th Street, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002 or submitted using the DEQ comment portal provided at:

DEQ is now conducting a review of the application to determine if it complies with applicable
technical standards for a facility of this type. If DEQ finds that the application complies with the
technical standards, DEQ will issue a proposed permit and provide public notice and further opportunity to comment on the proposed permit.
