Prepare for Assessment in MyNAEP Platform
- Click here to view a tutorial for the Prepare for Assessment section of the MyNAEP online system.
- The WDE recommends Building Coordinators (BCs) log-on to the online MyNAEP system as soon as possible, and complete each of the Prepare for Assessment steps. The Update Student List preparation step is available and should reflect January student enrollments.
- A NAEP field representative will be the go-to-person and point-of-contact for all building coordinators’ questions, support and preparation steps on NAEP.
-
Collaboration with NAEP field staff is critical. BCs who are unavailable to take their NAEP field representative’s initial call to the school must return the phone call as soon as possible.

Student Eligibility Guidance
- The majority of students with disabilities are able to participate in the WY-TOPP assessment with appropriate accommodations.
- IEP teams should consider the following questions when determining WY-ALT eligibility:
- Does the student have a significant cognitive disability?
- Does the student require extensive, direct, individualized instruction and substantial support to achieve measurable gains in grade - and age-appropriate curriculum?
- Is the student learning content linked to the Wyoming Extended Standards?
- Additional guidance can be found in the Wyoming Alternate Assessment (WY-ALT) Participation Guidance document and the Wyoming Accommodations and Accessibility Guide.
Alternate Tester Status in TIDE
- The Alternate Tester flag in TIDE is aligned with the student assessment information in each district’s Special Education reporting software (e.g., SpedAdvantage, SEAS).
For more information, contact Michelle Carroll, WDE Assessment Consultant, at 307-777-3618 or michelle.carroll@wyo.gov.

WIDA NDUA and WDE Security Agreements

- These agreements should be kept physically on file with signatures for two years.
- WIDA NDUA can be found on the WIDA Secure Portal (bottom of the page).
- These documents may be requested for review during the on-site ACCESS monitoring by the WDE Consultant.
