Digital Learning Plan Implementation

Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

This month’s focus is the DLP Future Ready Framework gear Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. The goals of this gear are:

Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Gear
  • Provide a common understanding of what students should know, understand, and be able to do specific to digital learning and digital citizenship.
  • Technology is used to gather and utilize data to inform educators and students with personalized instruction.
  • Educators use instructional practices that shift their role to be facilitators of learning.

Wyoming Education Trust Fund Grant

The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) invites districts to apply for the Wyoming Education Trust Fund Grant for 2021-22. The application and additional information can be found here. The grant deadline is Friday, April 30, 2021.

Funds provided through the Wyoming Education Trust Fund are available to any public school district as one-year grants. Districts may apply individually, or in conjunction with other districts or educational institutions. A total of approximately $250,000 is available and an estimated five to seven grants will be awarded.

Over the last three years, the Wyoming Education Trust Fund Grant has supported 18 Computer Science projects for 15 school districts. This year, there are two competitive priorities: Computer Science and Open Educational Resources-openly-licensed resources for educators to utilize and refine for instructional purposes in their classroom.

Wyoming Technology Education Leaders (WyTEL)

The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) announced the launch of Wyoming’s state chapter WyTEL in this press release. The WyTEL chapter will help enrich learning environments across the state, including by working to better connect students and teachers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and into the future.

The new CoSN chapter will offer Wyoming’s education technology leaders insight into the very best practices available and provide a forum for them to assist one another in addressing challenging issues - from barriers to remote learning to digital equity and professional development. The WyTEL chapter will give Wyoming educators access to CoSN’s vast array of resources and national network of school professionals.

More information on the WyTEL chapter is available at www.wytel.tech. To learn more about CoSN’s other state chapters and their efforts, visit www.cosn.org/about/state-chapters
