Closes on February 26, 2021

Students who transfer out of a district can be removed from test sessions. A transfer must be completed in AMS when a student transfers to another district and has not completed the ACCESS for ELLs test sessions. Students who are likely not to test because of COVID-related issues, but are still in the district should be kept in test sessions until the end of the testing window, which is February 26. Districts may remove students from test sessions once it has been verified that the student will not complete it by the end of the testing window.

For more information, contact Antoinette Hallam, WDE Assessment Consultant, at 307-777-5217 or antoinette.hallam@wyo.gov.

WIDA-DRC PLANNED OUTAGE

NAEP UPDATE AND ADVISORY

NAEP 2021 School and Teacher Questionnaire Special Study

In December, Wyoming districts and schools that registered for the 2021 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) were notified of the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) decision to postpone the NAEP until the next school year. They were also notified that NCES was exploring the possibility of administering NAEP questionnaires to teachers and principals this winter. Since then, NCES has decided to conduct the NAEP 2021 School and Teacher Questionnaire Special Study, which involves administering the school and teacher questionnaires along with additional questions related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The goal of the study is to gather important contextual information from schools and teachers on student learning opportunities and experiences during times of school closures, remote instruction, and hybrid instruction. No student assessment data or student survey responses will be collected in this study. Below is an overview of the COVID survey:

Schools registered for 2021 NAEP will be notified of the study’s details the week of February 8, and NAEP representatives will begin reaching out to building coordinators to conduct next steps beginning the week of February 15.
