The updated 2020-21 Wyoming ACCESS for ELLs Checklist is an important guide that highlights all tasks that need to be completed before, during, and after testing within a school or district. Use this checklist as you prepare for and administer the test, and to track completed tasks. It is recommended that EL educators check events off throughout the testing cycle.

The WDE English Learner (EL) Quarterly Webinar is designed to provide up-to-date clarifying information and specific details on revisions to English Learner (EL) and Title III programs, processes, and documents. Sessions will offer guidance on a number of topics specific to all districts serving ELs. Q&A session to follow.

Registration will Remain Open until January 8, 2021

Spring 2021 WY-ALT Training Registration is now open. All WY-ALT Test Administrators must complete a training session, either online or in person, in order to administer the WY-ALT assessment. Based on the interruption in test administration last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no “refresher” training options will be offered.

• January 21, 4-7 p.m., Online
• January 29, 9 a.m.-noon, Online
• January 29, 1-4 p.m., Online
• February 3, 4-7 p.m., Online

Registrations will be accepted through January 8, 2021. No requests for registration will be taken after the closing date.

WIDA Training Opportunity

This eWorkshop is designed to support mathematics educators and language specialists who have a responsibility to share their learning with colleagues through collaboration or coaching. Participants will explore the importance of equitable engagement in math conversations for multilingual learners in a three-part webinar series. By engaging in this eWorkshop, participants will build their skills in:

• Recognizing characteristics of equitable classroom spaces where multilingual learners engage in deep mathematical discourse.
• Structuring supports and scaffolding that build students’ repertoires for communicating their math questions and ideas.
• Deciding when to guide students toward more precise mathematical language.

All materials and the webinar platform will be housed in the WIDA eLearning Center, which can be accessed by participants with a WIDA Secure Portal login. Participants are required to do pre-webinar work beginning October 19, 2020 and it must be completed before the two above webinar dates.
