PROVISIONAL WIDA REMOTE SCREENER (OPPORTUNITY)

The WIDA Screener MUST be used when on-campus instruction resumes and can be found on the WIDA Secure Portal. In the meantime, the optional WIDA Remote Screener is a remotely administered screener tool that supports the identification of English Learners. This assessment is designed to enable screening when the student and test administrator cannot share a physical space. Training videos and materials will be available and should be reviewed before the Remote Screener Webinars and Q&A sessions.

Test Administrators should NOT use the Remote Screener until attending the Remote Screener Training and Webinar.

Remote Screener Requirements: 

English Language educators and WIDA certified Test Administrators are preferred to administer the remote Screener. 

  1. Review the WIDA Remote Screener Test Administrator Manual and student materials (available on the WIDA Secure Portal)
    1. K-1 July 16.
    2. 2-12 July 30.
  2. Complete the Remote Screener Training Videos:
    1. K-1 Administration.
    2. Grade 2-12 Administration (Available July 30).
  3. View the live or recorded Remote Screener Webinar:
    1. K-1 webinar: Tuesday, July 21, 12 p.m. MDT.
    2. 2-12 webinar: Thursday, August 6, 12 p.m. MDT.

WIDA AMS PLANNED OUTAGE

A DRC planned system outage affecting WIDA AMS will take place from 10 p.m. MDT on Saturday, July 25 to 10 a.m. MDT on Sunday, July 26.

Users will not have access to AMS during this time, so educators should plan accordingly. WIDA and DRC apologize for any inconvenience caused by this routine maintenance.

SLACK FORUM FOR EDUCATORS OF WY STUDENTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

The SLACK Forum is an online message board to provide support and resources for SPED and GenEd teachers who work with students with multiple disabilities or significant cognitive disabilities. Topics will vary and resources for support and information will be shared. Communication on monthly virtual support meetings with Q&A sessions will also be shared through this forum.
