ACCESS TEST DATA CORRECTIONS WINDOW OPEN

Important: Ensure Accurate Accounting of Students and Scores
Window: Now - July 3

Districts must review Individual Student Reports (ISRs) to ensure ISRs have domain and composite scores for tests completed. If there is an issue or error on an ISR, districts may be able to correct these during the Data Corrections window. Districts should notify Antoinette Hallam with information of the error and collaborate with her to check the accuracy of the error to complete a Data Corrections Form. Issues that require a data correction may need to be covered at the cost of the district.

The most common errors on ISRs, include the following:

  • Students’ demographic data did not match between online testing (Listening, Reading, Speaking) and Writing on paper, so two records appeared and the student received two Individual Student Reports (ISRs) and no composite score.
  • Mis-bubbling caused two or more students to have the same district code, school code, and state student ID, grade, and first six characters of first and last name matched and became one record for reporting.
  • A Test Administrator mistakenly added a Do Not Score (DNS) code to a domain or domains, which was in error.

ACCOUNTABILITY STATE DATA REVIEW

Please note that a concurrent ACCESS assessment data review of state data for accountability will be taking place June 22 - July 3. This is your last opportunity to review your EL assessment results before their inclusion in the accountability review.

ENGLISH PROFICIENT DEFINITION FOR ALT ACCESS

wida sis

Effective in the 2019-20 school year, the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) established exit criteria for ALT ACCESS test takers. Students who receive a composite performance level score of P1 or higher (P2) will be deemed English proficient and will enter monitoring status.

Upon exit, these students will be counted on the school accountability English language progress indicator. An English Learner (EL) with a disability can be “exited” from EL status when the student no longer meets the definition of an EL. This occurs only when the student meets the state’s definition of “proficient” in English. All ELs, including those with disabilities, must participate in ACCESS for ELLs, with or without accommodations, or must take the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs. For more information, please refer to Superintendent’s Memo 2020-031 dated March 2, 2020.

For more information, contact Antoinette Hallam at 307-777-5217 or antoinette.hallam@wyo.gov or the DRC at 1-866-276-7735 or help@wida.us.
