Meeting Week of August 10, 2020

The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) seeks Wyoming educators interested in participating in either the Science Content Alignment or the Science Fairness Review Committee meetings that will be held virtually the week of August 10, 2020. In order to participate in this committee review, all participants must be available to attend a morning training 8:30-9:30 a.m. MDT on August 10, 2020. All selected committee members will be eligible for an honorarium that will be paid after all committee work is complete. All applications submitted by 11:59 p.m. MDT on July 24, 2020 will be considered.

KINDERGARTEN WIDA ACCESS PLACEMENT TEST (K-WAPT)

K-WAPT Screener Development Delayed

The development project for the new Kindergarten WIDA ACCESS Placement Test (K-WAPT) Screener has been impacted by COVID-19. The unexpected delay means a new development timeline is being established. The new anticipated launch is spring of 2021. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

When the new kindergarten screener is available, WIDA will provide an online training course for the new screener on the Canvas platform. Topics will include test administration and scoring with a certification quiz at the conclusion of the training course.

June 10-11, 2020 WorkKeys Opportunity

For schools interested in allowing WorkKeys testing at home for their students on June 10-11, 2020, information about the school must be collected TODAY (June 5).

Please email jessica.steinbrenner@wyo.gov to indicate your interest. This opportunity does not require a proctor to be present; however, to offer this opportunity schools must be entered into the system.

Coordinator Set-up:

  • WDE will provide a list of coordinators to ACT. ACT will assign  coordinators to the new COVID testing realm. Email jessica.steinbrenner@wyo.gov to confirm participation.

Student Upload/Set-up:

Test Day:

  • On June 10, 2020, the assessments in the COVID testing realm will be activated. Coordinators will assign the WorkKeys assessments to each student for At-Home testing. For WorkKeys At-Home there will be no need for coordinators to Authorize the exam(s) as they do for in-school, proctored testing.
  • After the coordinator has created the student account(s) and assigned the assessments, they will need to provide the student with the student testing realm (https://rsp.act.org/1219172056) and the student’s log-in credentials.
  • Students can take the tests at their leisure during the designated At-Home testing window.

Note: The student’s At-Home testing workstation must still meet the ACT WorkKeys Online Technical Specifications.

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES

  • May: WIDA PD Events - CANCELED.
  • April 20-June 5: WorkKeys - (extended into early June).
  • June 13: ACT National Test Date (state option with voucher).
  • July 18: ACT National Test Date (state option with voucher).
  • September 1–October 23: WY-TOPP Fall Interim (off-grade and on-grade).
  • September 22, October 6 & 20: State Fall ACT Test Dates for 2019-20 Juniors.
