ACCESS FOR ELLs ASSESSMENT TRAINING

Learn About the Overall Administration of ACCESS and the Responsibilities for District Test Coordinators and Test Administrators

During the training, participants will learn about the procedures for facilitating the overall administration of ACCESS for ELLs suite of assessments. All participants must have computers or tablets to access sample items in the WIDA Assessment Management System. 

Audience: This training is designed for Test Coordinators and Test Administrators. It is available  for all those interested in supporting and learning more about language development.

Participants will be able to: 

  • Discuss the features of each of the different ACCESS for ELLs suite of assessments.
  • Describe the training requirements and preparation.
  • Identify the purpose of the WIDA Accessibility and Accommodations Framework.
  • Explain the technology basics for ACCESS for ELLs.
  • Describe the administrative functions of test coordination in WIDA AMS.
  • Explain test administration monitoring and materials management.
  • Identify the different aspects of online test administration such as:
    • Domain test details.
    • Accessibility and accommodations.
    • Monitoring the test administration.
    • Preparing students for the online test platform.
    • Describe the process of test materials management.
    • Identify the WIDA AMS responsibilities for test administrators.

WIDA ENGLISH LANGUAGE (ELD) DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS: 2020 EDITION INVITATION TO REVIEW DRAFTS

 On Monday, November 18, drafts of the WIDA ELD Standards, 2020 Edition were made available at wida.wisc.edu/2020standards. Once you have reviewed these drafts, submit your feedback via the public input survey.

Why: To make sure this work meets your needs. Provide your input to ensure that the WIDA ELD Standards, 2020 Edition is a helpful resource to support equity for multilingual learners and teach language and content together.

ACCESS FOR ELLS AND ALTERNATE ACCESS FOR ELLS TESTING MATERIALS

Order Test Materials By November 25, 2019 

All those administering ACCESS for ELLs must place a materials order, regardless of testing mode (online or paper.) Please be advised that if you do not order tests for your school or district during this time frame, you will not receive any materials in the materials shipment. Pre-ID labels will be included in the initial materials shipment regardless of materials ordered.

View the Ordering Materials tutorial in the WIDA ACCESS for ELLs training course. The training course may be accessed on the WIDA Secure Portal by logging in at the top right corner of the homepage or by clicking here. Once logged in, the appropriate training course may be selected.

All ACCESS for ELLs test materials will be ordered from DRC using WIDA AMS. Building Test Coordinators/District Test Coordinators will need to follow the test materials ordering procedures outlined in the WIDA Assessment Management System (WIDA AMS) User Guide which is located on WIDA AMS.  

HOW TO ORDER MATERIALS.     

  1. Log in to WIDA AMS. 
  2. Click Materials>Materials Ordering. 
  3. Choose the administration WY ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 2018-2019.
  4. Click 'Show Materials.'
