This application is for any Wyoming educator interested in participating in the WY-ALT Content Alignment Review Committee meeting set for October 17, 2019 in Cheyenne. Travel and lodging reimbursements will be offered to committee members who travel 50 or more miles one way to Little America Hotel and Resort in Cheyenne. All applications submitted by 11:59 p.m. on September 27, 2019, will be considered.

WIDA SCREENER FOR KINDERGARTEN

WIDA is developing a new Kindergarten Screener that can be used to identify Kindergarten English Learners.This test will replace the KW-APT. WDE encourages Wyoming educators to participate and is seeking schools that can administer the Kindergarten Screener during a field test in early 2020. WIDA will provide all test materials and a test administration manual to make the testing process as easy as possible. 

PLEASE NOTE: WIDA Screener for Kindergarten is in test development and sites will not receive scores for the students they test. Results will only be used for the test development. Participants who complete the field test process will receive $100.00 as compensation. TEST ADMINISTRATOR ACCESS FOR ELLS TUTORIALS

All ACCESS for ELLs training tutorials for grades 1-12 have been updated for 2019-2020 School Year and can be located in the WIDA Secure Portal. Wyoming’s re-certification policy requires all Test Administrators be trained the first year of test administration; annual training will be done every other year thereafter. Test Administrators will review training every year on all WIDA modules. Test Administrators administering the Screener must certify/re-certify every year. 

TSM CONFIGURATIONS AND TRANSITION TO COS SD

Old

Reminder: Delete TSM Configurations and transition to COS SD.  LEAs with a TSM still configured in their system who attempt to use WIDA Screener Online will be prompted to transition to COS SD and will not be allowed to test until the system is installed. All districts must delete the TSM configuration and move to COS SD. Documentation supporting this technology transition can be found in both https://wida.wisc.edu and in the WIDA Secure Portal in the Download Library.

WIDA and DRC extended the August 15th deadline to September 20th.

Revised WIDA Q&A Webinar Schedule: Due to unforeseen circumstances from WIDA associated with the WebEx platform, the WIDA Q&A Webinar Schedule has been updated with new login links.

Thursday, September 19, 1-2 p.m. MDT: WIDA MODEL Overview: A webinar for District Test Coordinators and Test Administrators. You'll learn how the WIDA MODEL fits into WIDA’s Assessment System and how its use as an interim assessment can provide the data needed to support English learners throughout the school year. Useful resources will be shared and the differences between the WIDA MODEL Paper and WIDA MODEL Online be explained.

Tuesday, September 24, 10-11 a.m. MDT: Pre-Testing: ACCESS for ELLs for Test Administrators: This webinar will provide information on preparing to administer the WIDA ACCESS for ELLs assessment with an opportunity for questions.

Thursday, September 26, Noon-1 p.m. MDT: Pre-Testing: ACCESS for ELLs for District Test Coordinators: A webinar for District Test Coordinators to provide how-to information on Creating WIDA user accounts, monitoring test administrator training completion, and using WIDA AMS as a District Test Coordinator.
