LAST CALL FOR WY-ALT MANDATORY TRAINING

Test Administrator training - 11 a.m.-1 p.m. - February 26, 2019 - Laramie

This year, all Spring 2019 Alternate Assessment Test Administrators (TA-ALTs) must attend an in-person WY-ALT training, even if you administered the WY-ALT in 2018. You must attend an in-person training to administer the test.

Sign-in sheets from the trainings will be used to ensure all attendees are granted the proper access to the Test Delivery System (TDS) during the testing window.

In addition, all Spring 2019 TA-ALTs must take the online TA Certification Course, available via the Wyoming Assessment Portal. Completing the course will flag your TIDE account as “TA Certified.”

CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS - 1 PERCENT CAP FOR ALT ASSESSMENTS

Application closes at 11:59 p.m. - February 22nd - (Parents, Service Providers, Educators)

The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) seeks applicants to participate in developing guidance for IEP teams to use when determining whether a student should take the WY-TOPP or the WY-ALT assessment. The committee meeting will be held in Cheyenne on March 4-5, 2019. A $300/day stipend will be provided to cover travel expenses. PTSB credit will be available. Follow the link to apply.

ALT ASSESSMENT SURVEYS

WDE is looking for input from parents, educators, and specialists as to how IEP teams determine whether a student should take the WY-ALT assessment or WY-TOPP with Accommodations. Please complete the survey appropriate to your role by February 26th.

The WDE seeks general education, special education, academic coaches, curriculum directors, and administrators to participate in standard setting for the WY-ALT assessments in English Language Arts grades 3-10, mathematics grades 3-10, and Science grades 4, 8, and 10. Travel and lodging reimbursements will be offered to panel members traveling from outside of Cheyenne. All applications submitted by 11:59 p.m. on May 1, 2019 will be considered. Please note preference will be given to applicants who apply by March 1, 2019.

ACT TEST ADMINISTRATION Q&A WEBINAR

Starting at 3:30 p.m. on February 28

ACT will host two Q&A webinars for Building Test Coordinators and District Test Coordinators. Topics that will be discussed during the webinar include:

  • Staff and facility requirements.
  • Preparation activities, such as handling test materials and completing the examinee non-test information.
  • Managing information in PearsonAccessnextTM.
  • Test day policies and procedures.
  • Returning test materials.
  • Topics specific to your testing program.

Participants must register 48 hours before the session start time.
