ACCESS FOR ELLS 2.0 ASSESSMENT WINDOW

The mandatory ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 assessment window is January 22-February 26

All students identified as an English Language Learner must be assessed annually in the language domains of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. ELL students who also have an IEP or 504 plan may use documented accommodations on the ACCESS 2.0 assessment. IEP and 504 teams do not determine if a student will participate in the exam. These teams determine how a student will participate in the ACCESS 2.0 assessment.

Test materials arrived in your district on Monday, January 7. An overage was provided. Should the shipment, including the overage, still fall short of the need, the window for supplemental orders is open until February 19.

You can set up test sessions in the WIDA AMS. Please note, that campuses may add newly enrolled ELL students to test sessions who were not classified as ELs on the 684 file that was submitted in October.

Please click on the link to view the WIDA AMS User Guide.

The purpose of the visit will be to observe test security practices and answer any questions school staff may have about statewide assessment.

ACCESS FOR ELLS ADDITIONAL MATERIALS ORDERING WINDOW

checklist

Additional materials ordering window is January 7 - February 19

The additional materials ordering window for ACCESS and Alternate ACCESS for ELLs will be available from January 7, 2019 through February 19, 2019. During this time, you may order additional testing materials needed via the WIDA AMS Additional Materials functionality.

  • Your initial shipment of test materials include extra copies to ensure that additional orders will rarely be required. These materials must be used before any orders for additional materials may be placed.
  • Test Administrators who need additional materials must consult and get approval from the District Test Coordinator to determine whether the district has the material on hand or whether an order for additional materials is necessary.
  • With the exception of a few large metropolitan areas, orders for additional materials may be placed by District Test Coordinators only.

For assistance with ordering additional materials, view the Additional Materials Ordering tutorial posted in the ACCESS for ELLs training course on the WIDA Secure Portal. You may access the training course by selecting either Paper-Based Training or Online Training course. From there, click on the 'Preparing Tab' and scroll down until you get to the Additional Materials Orders Tutorial button.

ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS

  • To order additional materials, log in to WIDA AMS and select Materials > Additional
Materials along the top navigation menu.
  • Once on the Additional Materials page, select the correct Administration, District, and the
District-Level Additional Orders Only Site. The Add Order button will activate once the
    district-level ordering site is selected.
  • Once the order is complete, click Submit.
  • Contact DRC Customer Support with any questions at WIDA@DataRecognionCorp.com or 1-855-787-9615.

WY-ALT MANDATORY TRAINING

Due to low enrollment, the January 31 training in Cheyenne has been cancelled

The spring 2019 WY-ALT training registration window is now closed. No additional requests for registration will be taken.

You must attend an in-person training to administer the test. Sign-in sheets from trainings will be used to ensure all attendees are granted the proper access to the Test Delivery System during the testing window.

In addition, all Spring 2019 TA-ALTs must take the online TA Certification Course, available via the Wyoming Assessment Portal. Completing the course will flag your TIDE account as “TA Certified.”

All test administrators should review the Directions for Administration manual prior to administering the assessment.

If you have questions, please contact the Wyoming Help Desk at wyohelpdesk@air.org. You will receive a reply within 24 hours regarding your inquiries.
