WY-ALT INDEPENDENT FIELD TEST - LAST DAY

The WY-ALT Independent Field Test (IFT) closes today, Friday, April 27.

The IFT is an online test for all students that were eligible for the 2018 WY-ALT. The IFT introduces Test Administrators and students to the online Test Delivery System that will be used in future WY-ALT administrations.
 
The IFT is administered in the same grades as the WY-ALT. Students in grades 3-11 are administered the ELA and Math IFTs. Additionally, students in grades 4, 8, and 10-11 are administered the Science IFT.

Follow the links below to view writing samples that were used to train the AI scoring engine for writing. Annotations are included that explain the reasoning behind the assigned scores. The engine is designed to predict human scoring on writing responses.

WY-TOPP STANDARD SETTING EDUCATOR PANEL

Application deadline has been extended to May 31st.


This application is for any Wyoming educator interested in contributing to setting the proficiency standards for the WY-TOPP assessments in English Language Arts grades 3-10, mathematics grades 3-10, or the legacy science for grade 10. The standards setting meeting will be held in Cheyenne on July 10-12, 2018. Travel and lodging reimbursements will be offered to panel members traveling from outside of Cheyenne. All applications submitted by 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2018 will be considered. Follow this link to apply for consideration to participate.


WIDA: ACCESS 2.0 WORKSHOP - INTERPRETING ACCESS FOR ELLS SCORE REPORTS

June 7th in Casper, WY or June 8th in Riverton, WY

EL teachers and EL coordinators have the opportunity to learn how the ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Score Reports provide important information about students’ academic English language proficiency. Participants will examine the different types of reports available and each report’s function. Participants will also discuss the connection between the score reports and the WIDA ELD Standards and Assessment System, and how these reports can serve as a tool to initiate discussion about instruction.

This survey is from WIDA and focuses on your experience administering ACCESS for ELLs 2.0, Alternate ACCESS for ELLs, and WIDA Screener. Standards Based Grading

This session will overview effective grading practices based on proficiency scales.  Pertinent grading topics, such as homework, separating academic performance from behaviors, and reassessment will be addressed. Participants will also learn different methods for calculating grades based on proficiency scales.
