Energy Innovation Grant Program Round 6 Updates
- Round 6 of the Energy Innovation Grant Program (EIGP) opened on April 1, 2026.
- The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 1:30 PM CT.
- Review the Application Instructions for eligible activities and applicant types, scoring criteria, and other relevant program information, including responses to questions that have been submitted.
- The PSC anticipates this sixth round is likely the last unless additional funding is authorized. In the 2025-27 biennial budget, Gov. Evers proposed investing $20 million in the EIGP program, but it was removed by the state legislature.

Grid Resilience Grant Program Round 2
- Public comments are now being accepted related to the program design for Round 2 of the Wisconsin Grid Resilience Grant Program.
- Comments must be submitted through the Commission's website. On the Commission's website, click the "File a Comment" button, and then navigate to the docket 9713-FG-2026. Comments must be submitted by Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 1:30pm CT.
- Following the program design phase, the OEI anticipates opening one or more competitive grant cycles to solicit projects from eligible applicants.
- The OEI will provide Application Instructions and host a webinar at the beginning of the grant cycle to support potential applicants.

Inflation Reduction Act Home Energy Rebates
- Wisconsin continues to receive federal guidance on the IRA Home Energy Rebate Programs. Final program changes are not yet available. We expect to share updates, changeover dates, and additional details in the coming weeks.
- Some program changes will affect project eligibility. The HEAR program will have the most significant eligibility changes.
- Households with HEAR projects involving heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, heat pump dryers, or kitchen equipment are encouraged to work with an IRA Registered Contractor to submit their application materials as soon as possible.
- As a reminder, Wisconsin’s programs remain operational while the guidance is under review. The program will continue processing all applications submitted under current program rules including:
- Income qualifications.
- Project reservations.
- Payment requests.

Strategic Energy Management for Water Treatment Facilities
- The energy used by water and wastewater utilities can account for up to 35% of typical municipal energy budgets. Electricity use accounts for 25%–40% of the operating budgets for wastewater utilities and approximately 80% of drinking water processing and distribution costs.
- To help increase the efficiency of this energy use, Focus on Energy is launching the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) for Water Treatment Facilities.
- Participants will receive enhanced support from Subject Matter Experts. This will include onsite energy treasure hunts, energy model development, and a series of guided workshops. Incentives up to $50,000 are available for low- and no-cost projects identified during the process.

Combined Heat and Power Request for Proposals
- Focus on Energy is now accepting submissions for the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Request for Proposals (RFP). This RFP is available to business customers seeking financial support to complete CHP projects by November 30, 2027.
- The application deadline is October 31, 2026.
- Applicants should work directly with their Focus on Energy Advisor to submit a response to this RFP.

Funding Opportunities
Wisconsin Department of Transportation is Accepting Submissions for the Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (WEVI) Connecting Corridors Request for Proposals
- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is now accepting applications to expand the coverage of federally funded electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Wisconsin to include heavily traveled U.S. and state highway corridors.
- On May 26, 2026, WisDOT released its WEVI Connecting Corridors Request for Proposals (RFP) document and the WEVI Connecting Corridors submission packet.
- WisDOT is currently accepting project proposals through Friday, July 24, 2026.
- Wisconsin currently has approximately $40 million available in unobligated funds for the program. Funding covers up to 80% of eligible costs. Prospective grantees are required to provide a minimum 20% match of the eligible costs from non-federal sources.
- Eligible applicants are:
- Private businesses, including corporations, partnerships, companies, or nonprofit organizations authorized to do business in Wisconsin
- Tribal organizations (as defined in Title 25 US Code Section 5304 (I))
