This month's featured retailer, Kelly Lake Kwik Stop, is in the Town of Spruce in Oconto County. The Town of Spruce received its name from the considerable amount of spruce timber which originally grew there along with a heavy growth of hardwood, pine, and hemlock. Across the street from Kelly Lake Kwik Stop is 367-acre Kelly Lake. This beautiful public lake and surrounding area is known for is fishing, boating, and snowmobiling & ATV trails. About a block from the store, nestled in the tall pines, is Holt Park Campground featuring lakeside campsites and three different swim areas with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.
Kelly Lake Kwik Stop is family owned and operated by Jim and Debbie Sohr. They both have ties to the area and moved to Wisconsin from Illinois in 2018. Debbie recalls spending hours fishing, blueberry picking, and hunting with her grandfather; and Jim drove a semi in Peshtigo before meeting Debbie. Prior to relocating from Illinois, Jim was a computer programmer and Debbie was an accountant & tax preparer.
The Sohrs are happy to be in Wisconsin now and love to serve the Kelly Lake community. They encourage their customers to ask for anything they want them to carry in the store and are happy to accommodate special requests. Kelly Lake Kwik Stop is truly a one stop shop with a laundromat, a full deli & kitchen, ice cream shop, and even a miniature golf course. As if that's not enough they also offer propane, firewood, stamps, movie rentals, a bait shop, hunting rifles & ammunition, and of course, Lottery products.
The Lottery display is prominently located on the front counter at Kelly Lake Kwik Stop. Since purchasing the store, they have steadily grown their business. Regular customers and seasonal visitors will find a full assortment of scratch tickets available all year round.
When you get the opportunity to visit the Kelly Lake area, be sure make a stop at Kelly Lake Kwik Stop!
